DARDO
a robust design for a super solid and modern button
Minimalist and robust by design, DARDO is the reference pushbutton for lifts installed in more demanding environments, including high-traffic buildings and/or prone to vandalism.
DARDO at a glance
→ Compliant to new EN 81-70:2021+A1:2022 color contrast requirement (LRV)
→ Rock-solid design, tested for vandal-proof requirements of EN81-71 Class 1
→ Square or round shape
→ With or without tactile Braille
→ Two mounting solutions: flush mounting with welded studs or frontal mounting with metal collar
→ Raised symbol
→ Single or Twin lighting (see below)
→ Flush mounted is IP65 + IP67
→ Front mounted is IP65
A closer look
The shoot-peen metal pressel avoids unpleasant fingerprints on the button surface
The design features a wholly reshaped font! Tactile Braille comes as an option for all Dardo buttons.
Twin lighting ensures enhanced visibility and contrast to background surface
Vandal-proof design
Its minimalist look should not be misleading: DARDO is a button designed for demanding, heavy-duty applications. With its extremely robust body and proven activation mechanism, DARDO fully complies with EN81-71 Class 1 European guidelines for the design of lift components installed in environments prone to vandalism.
DARDO was successfully tested in our laboratories for impact, water flow and fire resistance.
EN 81-70:2021+A1:2022
Great contrast, better visibility
The EN 81-70:2021+A1:2022 norm requires that luminance contrast between adjacent surfaces shall be evaluated in numerical light reflectance value (LRV).
The black metal ring added around the DARDO frontal mount button provides enhanced luminance contrast to the surrounding faceplate.
When mounted on a stainless steel faceplate, the flush version of the DARDO achieves the correct LRV with its dark pressel.
Mounting
Front
The frontal mount version of the DARDO can be inserted in squared-shaped 36,4mm cut-outs. The metal collar is part of the button body and ensures optimal solidity.
Flush
DARDO most stylish version fits into square-shaped 33,6mm cut-outs. The pushbutton is back-mounted with studs and is beautifully flush with the faceplate.
Illumination
Single lighting
Upon activation, both the raised symbol and the halo of the pushbutton light up in red or blue. White illumination is also available on request for some pushbuttons.
By default, all DMG buttons are available primarily with this basic illumination pattern.
Twin lighting
The DMG Twin-lighting solution was introduced as a way to improve button visibility in darker cabins.
Twin lighting means that both the button halo and the symbol are permanently illuminated in WHITE when no call is active.
Upon activation, the halo and symbol illumination color changes from white to RED or BLUE.
Which electronics?
Like all our pushbuttons, the Dardo can be matched to different contact modules:
Screw terminals contact module
The screw terminals contact module is good for all types of modernizations. It requires a conventional wiring during installation.
It is suited for installations where no acoustic call acknowledgment is required.
Screw terminals contact module
+
call acoustic acknowledge module
If an acoustic call acknowledge is required (compliance to EN81-70), the screw terminals contact module con be supplied with a separated small module generating an acoustic signal.
It requires conventional wiring during installation. This solution is suited for both car and floor applications.
JST connector contact module
Best solution for pre-wired fixtures allowing an easy and fast “plug&play” connection.
A JST cable must be added to connect the push-buttons.
